Pot Condems Kettle Excesses
"Too much focus on difference can spill over into separateness, which subverts an appreciation of our common humanity and undermines notions of universal rights and equal citizenship. It can produce a new form of tribalism, where societies are fragmented into myriad communities, each loyal primarily to itself and with little interest in the common good of society as a whole."
Actually quite sensible words really. A better condemnation of the excesses of multiculturalism is rarely to be found. Quite ironic that its coming from this man really. So, let me get this straight, this is *Peter Tatchell* bemoaning the forming of individual communities loyal only to themselves and pursuing nothing but their own selfish agendas at the expense of the feelings, rights and needs of the rest of society.
Bwahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!

It's called 'Nature'.
"Birds of a feather"...n'all that!
Poor Peter Tatchell. He has recognised the problems of multi-culturalism but assumes that there is some alternate version of it that still works.
I particularly like the way he claims that Black has split, first into black/brown, then into West Indian/African/Muslim/Hindu/Sikh. It doesn't seem to occur to him that it was an artificial grouping that existed largely because of the efforts of people like him to create a raciated politics or that Hindu and Sikh have dropped out of such politics because, in general, they have achieved success in society at large.
Incidentally, your link is bad is should be this, unless you intended to hit the comment thread!

If you can't tell the difference between CAIR and the ACLU (or their respective propensity for legalising child porn), then perhaps you better join the BNP.
Oh!
Anon i know the difference, my point was that they seem to be batting for the same batty side.
Next time don't dirty your name by making thoughtless remarks.
Oh!
